Texas couple married for 46 years overcome cancer, chemotherapy and coronavirus together
A remarkable couple who hail from Texas and have been married for 46 years have overcome the coronavirus, cancer and finished chemotherapy.
Robert and Janice Beecham have been married for 46 years, CNN reports. This year, after an incredibly tough spring, they are delighted to be recovering together at home.
As Janice Beecham told CNN, "It's a blessing to be here because a lot of people didn't make it."

Robert Beecham and his wife had been following safety rules during the coronavirus pandemic, yet he began to experience the symptoms of COVID-19. After a week and half of feeling unwell, the couple decided to get tested for the virus.
Just a day later, on March 25, Robert Beecham agreed to be taken to hospital, having had a telephone conversation with his son.
"He knew me agreeing without a fight meant that I was feeling pretty terrible," Robert said.
Robert Beecham was subsequently admitted to Parkland Hospital in Dallas, where he discovered the following day that he had tested positive for COVID-19.
He was moved to a different floor and made the first steps on his path to recovery. He credits his overcoming of the coronavirus to Dr Satyam Nayak.
"Dr. Nayak and I would open up casual conversations and it would take my mind off the virus," Robert said. He had told Dr Nayak of having two strokes, and how he had missed out on an anniversary. Dr Nayak decided to use this year's anniversary as motivation for Robert to get better, and devised a plan whereby he might get home in time for the couple's anniversary on April 15. He made it.
Teresa Woodward of WFAA tweeted of the couple;
"A love story we all need... Cancer, chemo, #COVID. They fought them all and made it home from the hospital in time for their 46th anniversary. Meeting Robert & Janice Beecham was truly one of the best things I’ve experienced in the last few months. See why on #WFAA at 10."

Meanwhile, at home, Janice Beecham was recovering from surgery she underwent in February after finding out about a second battle with breast cancer, and a new diagnosis: ovarian cancer.
She also tested positive for coronavirus, she revealed to CNN, though thankfully her symptoms were mild.
"Once I got home, and we did the quarantine, I was getting progressively better but Janice still had issues with her health," Robert said. "We're best friends, it was just tough."

Due to her diagnosis, Janice hadn't been able to undergo the chemotherapy treatment that her cancer required.
Yet now, having remarkably survived two coronavirus diagnoses and chemotherapy, having been declared cancer-free, the Beecham's message is one of gratitude.
"It would have been impossible to make it with all the odds against you without God, and he has been our help, all these many years," said Robert.
