Woman left 'mortified' after being shamed in supermarket over her outfit choice
A shopper in the UK has spoken out about being "shamed" by staff at a supermarket after they told her her shorts were too short.
This week, the UK has experienced a heatwave that has seen had its longest stretch of temperatures exceeding 34C since the 1960s, so it is only reasonable that people have been donning t-shirts and shorts in an effort to combat the heat.
However, during a visit to a Sainsbury's supermarket in Surrey, England, shopper Lauren O'Connor was left "shamed" and "disappointed" after she was approached by a member of staff over her outfit.
This is far from the first time a woman has been shamed as a result of what she was wearing:

The staff member informed the 33-year-old PR director that a male customer had made a complaint regarding the length of her shorts.
Speaking to The Sun, Lauren revealed that the sales assistant then said: "I think you need to pull your T-shirt down, as a gentleman doesn't know if you're wearing anything underneath."
Taking to Twitter to share her frustration, Lauren wrote: "I’m so angry right now. Just been approached by a @sainsburys staff member in Staines store to ‘pull my t shirt down’.
"An elderly man made comment to staff member who felt compelled to come over and tell me as I was shopping. It’s 32 degrees. If I want to wear shorts I will."

In a follow-up tweet, Lauren shared a picture of her outfit, along with the caption: "For reference, this is my outfit. All I wanted was ice lollies. [And] I get shamed in store doing so.
"So disappointed. When are we going to stop telling women how to dress? Especially when topless men frequent supermarkets, which I highly doubt are told to change."
However, responses to Lauren's photo were divided.
One Twitter user replied saying: "I mean, they're very short, nearly cutting you in two and the back view must be something else... yes its hot, but come on."

And another added: "Why can't people dress decently? Why do you need to wear something where people can see your a** checks bare skin. It's unnecessary, you'd complain if you saw a man walking with a thong into a Sainsbury’s like he's Borat. Just grow up, Sainsbury’s isn’t your house."

But others found nothing wrong with Lauren's outfit choice.
One supporter wrote: "That’s disgusting. Why do people love giving their unwarranted opinions?"
Meanwhile, another person just wrote: "What utter knobs."
