A royal report has revealed how much money Prince William actually earned this year - and it’s a lot.
The Prince, as a working royal, doesn’t get a traditional salary, but he won’t mind that too much when reading the figures for 2025.
How Prince William is paid - and how much
The Prince is in the second year of managing the Duchy of Cornwall estate, and earned millions in the process.
As he is a working member of the royal family and draws no traditional wage, William’s expenses are largely covered by the Duchy, which was established in the 1300s by King Edward III to give the heir to the throne funds.
William is now in his second year as the Duke of Cornwall, and the annual report dropped in June, revealing how much Wills earned.
That report states that there was a distributable surplus of $30.9 million for the financial year 2024/25, covering the official, charitable, and private expenses of William, his wife Kate, and their three kids.
The Duchy of Cornwall royal estate is worth a lot
The Duchy of Cornwall is worth over $1bn and contains 130,000 acres of land across 23 counties of England and Wales, as well as farms, houses, and other assets.
Basically, it pays to be related to someone who was wealthy in 1337.
When his father King Charles ascended to the throne in 2022, William became the head of that estate and the Duke of Cornwall.
It is believed that he pays income tax on the income received from that estate, minus household expenses that are unspecified.
That amount will likely be a lot, though.
Elsewhere in the report, it is revealed that the Duchy of Cornwall is taking steps to become more green, with the report stating that it intends to be a ‘net zero estate by the end of 2032’.
