A number of high-profile British names have surfaced in the newly released cache of documents tied to the Epstein files, with more disclosures still expected in the coming weeks.
The U.S. House of Representatives voted almost unanimously to make Epstein-related records public – a move now backed by Donald Trump, who recently reversed his previous stance and claimed he has “nothing to hide.”
Epstein, who died in 2019 while awaiting trial, had previously been convicted of procuring a minor for prostitution and soliciting a prostitute.
At the time of his death, he was in jail facing federal charges of sex trafficking minors in New York and Florida.
For decades, he cultivated relationships with wealthy, powerful, and influential individuals, which is why so many names appear across thousands of documents, emails, and notes.
Crucially, being mentioned in the files does not indicate wrongdoing, friendship, or any form of association with Epstein.
It simply means a name appeared somewhere within approximately 23,000 documents currently available.
In many cases, names show up because they were included in media articles Epstein shared or referenced.
To illustrate this point, the files even include the name William Shakespeare nine times – despite the obvious impossibility of any connection.

The Mirror reviewed the documents and identified several well-known British figures referenced in the files, noting how frequently each name appeared.
Among the most cited is Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, mentioned 173 times, due to his once-close friendship with Epstein. Andrew, who has since lost his royal titles, continues to deny allegations that he had sex with Virginia Giuffre, who said she was trafficked by Epstein at age 17.
Other royals also appear:
- Sarah Ferguson — 9 mentions
- Princess Diana — 14 mentions
- Queen Camilla — 9 mentions
Three former U.K. prime ministers are also listed:
- Tony Blair — 22 mentions
- Gordon Brown — 16 mentions
- David Cameron — 19 mentions
Additional political figures include:
- Nigel Farage — 18 mentions
- Peter Mandelson — 10 mentions
Epstein’s longtime associate Ghislaine Maxwell is cited 135 times, while her father Robert Maxwell appears 47 times.
Names from the arts, sciences, and sports also appear – again, often because they were referenced in articles Epstein circulated, not because of any direct involvement:
- Stephen Hawking — 17 mentions
- Richard Dawkins — 29 mentions
- Sir David Beckham — 9 mentions
- Sir Elton John — 8 mentions
- Sir Mick Jagger — 9 mentions
- Colin Firth — 10 mentions
- Naomi Campbell — 10 mentions
- Piers Morgan — 9 mentions
- Adele — 8 mentions
With more files set to be released, the list is expected to grow – though experts continue to stress that a name appearing in the dataset does not imply misconduct or any meaningful connection to Epstein or his crimes.
