The Bidens introduce their new cat, Willow

There's a new face in the Oval Office.

First lady Jill Biden has introduced the newest member of the president's family - a cat called Willow.

In a tweet earlier today, the First lady shared some adorable snaps of the grey cat prowling the White House halls and sunning herself on a window.

"Meet Willow," Dr. Biden wrote in the caption alongside a heart emoji. The tweet has already been liked over 100,000 times, as of this writing.

According to the First lady's press secretary Michael Larosa, Willow is a two-year-old Tabby who was named after her hometown of Willow Grove in Pennsylvania, CBS reports.

Apparently, Willow and Dr. Biden first met back in 2020 when the Bidens were on the campaign trail.

The gray and white striped kitten jumped up on stage, interrupting Dr. Biden's speech - but winning her heart.

Larosa recalled how the owner of the farm where Willow lived saw an "immediate bond" form between the pair.

Since then, it's not certain when Willow moved in with the president and his wife. But Larosa reports that she is "settling into the White House with her favorite toys, treats, and plenty of room to smell and explore."

Willow is now the second pet the Biden's have introduced to the White House, alongside their new dog Commander who they welcomed last month.

The family has two other dogs living there previously: Major, who had to move out of the Capital complex after he was involved in at least two "nipping" incidents, and Champ, who passed away in June at the age of 13.

Willow's arrival has been met with joy on social media, where many shared pictures of their own pets and dubbed Willow the First Cat of the United States.

"Hello First Cat Willow! Misha and Tasha gratefully at your service," wrote one person alongside some snaps of their cats Misha and Tasha.

"Skittles and Bella say welcome to the White House!" wrote another with a picture of their feline friends.

Meanwhile, there was a bit of catty jealousy in the comments from one pet.

"Who wants to break the news to my Willow? She’s going to be devastated she wasn’t the Willow selected to be the first cat," joked one user alongside a clip of their doppelganger cat.
