Zoe Kravitz reveals why she 'destroyed' part of Taylor Swift's home during LA wildfires

Zoë Kravitz has shared the reason why she nearly destroyed Taylor Swift’s bathroom while staying at the singer's home during the California wildfires earlier this year.

During an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, the 36-year-old Batman star explained how Swift kindly opened her doors to her and her mother, Lisa Bonet, after they evacuated their homes due to the fires.

"We ended up having to stay there for about two weeks," Kravitz said, revealing that her mom's pet snake, Orpheus, also came along for the ride.

The 'Cruel Summer' hitmaker's $25 million mansion, built in the 1930s, is “something you want to preserve and take care of,” High Fidelity actress noted, and she was determined to be a good guest.

But as the mother-daughter duo prepared to leave, they accidentally “destroyed” part of the pop star’s home.

Kravitz recalled cleaning up the house on her last day when her mom called her in a panic.

When she arrived at the upstairs bathroom, she found Bonet holding the snake’s tail as it became trapped in a small hole in the wall.

As the pair tried to figure out how to rescue Orpheus, things quickly spiraled into chaos, and this caused the snake to slither further into the wall.

In the heat of the moment, Kravitz called the 'Love Stort' songstress' house manager, who arrived with a crowbar to “tear apart the banquette” to free the snake.

“We’re ripping up the tile, we’re scratching the walls,” she recalled. “Completely destroyed Taylor’s bathroom, and there was just this moment where I was like, ‘Either we destroy her bathroom or I have to tell her that there’s a snake somewhere in her house."

Kravitz promised to pay for all repairs and asked the house manager to keep quiet until it was fixed. But when she eventually called Swift to confess, the 'Fortnite' singer was already aware of the mishap.

“I wanted to talk to you about something,” Kravitz began, but Swift cut her off, saying, “Is it the fact that you almost lost a snake in my house and destroyed my bathroom?”

Despite the mayhem, the Blink Twice star laughed it off, joking that Grammy-winning star's next album should be called “Orpheus” in honor of the snake - though Swift’s 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, has already been announced, and does not include a snake-themed track.

Kravitz, who has been close friends with the 'Karma' musician for over a decade, also reflected on their strong bond, sharing that she’s had the chance to witness Swift’s artistry up close.

The two collaborated on Swift’s 2022 album Midnights, with Kravitz co-writing the songs “Karma” and “Lavender Haze” and providing backing vocals.

In addition to spending time together at Swift’s home, the actress and her mom had attended Swift's sold-out Eras tour in London.
