Horrifying model claims to show what avid Netflix viewers might look like in 20 years

A terrifying set of models purport to show what avid Netflix viewers might look like 20 years from now.

Amid the coronavirus pandemic, many of us have spent most of our time in our own homes over the last several months. Much of our social interaction has been driven online, and with hobbies rendered impossible due to social distancing in many cases, Netflix has provided some much needed entertainment.

However, with so much time spent indoors and sat in front of the television, exercise and stretching our legs from some fresh air has never been more important.

This notion has perhaps been compounded by researchers from onlinegambling.com, who have created two models that paint a bleak picture of what TV binge-watchers might look like 20 years from now.

Per the Metro, the team said,

"We conducted a study on the impact that binging Netflix has on your health. We used our research to show you what you could look like if you don’t change your habits.

"From obesity and posture damage to premature ageing and bloodshot eyes, these are just some of the nasty effects this unhealthy lifestyle could cause.

"We’ve created 3D models to show you up close and personal all the bodily damage of a Netflix binger. Let us warn you, it’s not a pretty sight.

"This could be you if you keep letting that next episode play on automatically…"

The pair, dubbed Eric and Hannah, supposedly represent what two decades of bingeing television would do to our bodies and physical appearance.

Per the Metro, a survey conducted by the company found that since we began staying at home more often due to the coronavirus pandemic, 44% of residents surveyed in the UK, United States and Germany said they used streaming services more often than video calls with with friends, playing video games, board games or walking.
