Wendy Williams reveals she hired a private investigator to follow her husband amid cheating allegations
Wendy Williams has revealed that she hired a private investigator to follow her husband amid allegations of marital infidelity.
The 56-year-old host of the Wendy Williams Show split from her husband Kevin Hunter back in April 2019 after rumors emerged on social media that he had been cheating on her and fathered a child with his alleged mistress.
Per Yahoo! News, in an interview on an episode of The E! News show Daily Pop, interviewer Justin Sylvester spoke to Williams about the allegations while they were discussing her upcoming biopic Lifetime movie.
Commenting on her marital issues, Wendy stated:
"There were secrets that I was keeping. It wasn't about being not vulnerable. It was about waiting for the right time because I was methodically planning to get out of my marriage. I still played 'I love you, I love you,' Wendy.
"This is what a smart girl does if she is playing the role of being the loving wife. In the meantime, you know, the [private investigator] was following them on vacation.
"The P.I. followed her to her GYN appointments. The P.I. ended up finding out that the girl was pregnant."
She continued:
"I just let the headlines kind of speak for themselves. I could not talk to you all about everything going on until I was able to sit down and talk with my son.
"And my ex-husband was acting out of order. So, you all didn't know that, and I wasn't going to talk about that stuff. I was going to save it for the movie."
Back in May of 2020, the media personality was forced to take a hiatus from presenting her show, due to her ongoing battle with Graves' disease.
In a statement posted to her 1.5 million Twitter followers, a spokesperson for the production team wrote: "Recently, Wendy has been dealing with symptoms from her Graves’ disease which is causing fatigue."
The spokesperson added: "In consultation with her doctor and as a precautionary measure, she will be taking some time off as she continues to receive treatment."
