Prison Break is one of the most popular series around, and now fans have some reassurance that a highly-anticipated sixth season will be happening thanks to Dominic Purcell.
The star of the show, who played inmate Lincoln Burrows, made the apparent confirmation of the Fox show's sixth season in a cryptic Instagram post.

In the post, Purcell wrote to his 1.9 million followers:
"Rumor number 1. I'm old. Yes. I'm 50.....
"Rumor number 2. I'm bald. No I have a full head of hair; the people demand I shave it.
"Rumor number 3, Will season pb 6 happen. Yes.....
"Rumor number 4. Do I like humans? No. Not on mass. Definitely not."

In a nutshell, the 50-year-old Australian actor really doesn't like people, but on the flip side, Prison Break could be coming back for a sixth season, which will no doubt delight fans.
The last season of Prison Break aired back in 2017, and since then, Fox has strongly implied that it likely won't be returning to screens for a new season.
As per Digital Spy, Fox Entertainment's CEO Charlie Collier said in August 2019 that there were no existing plans to bring Prison Break back.
Collier said:
"There's no plan right now to revive Prison Break or any of the other franchises, but when the creators come with a story that they think is the right time to tell, we are so ready to listen because those are some franchises of which I'm so proud and feel so fortunate that they're in our stable."
However, a year is a long time, especially in 2020, and perhaps things have changed since then.
Needless to say, fans were very excited by Purcell's Instagram post.
One wrote: "This dude just casually said prison break is happening."

Meanwhile, a third excitedly wrote in all caps: "SEASON 6? REALLYYYY O MY GOD."

This isn't the first time that Purcell has teased the possibility of an additional season of Prison Break.
Earlier this year, Purcell wrote in another Instagram post: "I get smashed with 'when is #prisonbreak 6 happening'.|

He continued: "What I can promise is this. We are all in agreement that if the story is worthy it will get made.
"Now with the horror of this #virus the calamity of it all drills inside me a new focus a steely resolve with PRISON BREAK 6- I'm very optimistic with #socialdistancing and a fierce adherence to expert opinion on how to beat this catastrophic unprecedented event, we all as one will be victorious over #coronavirus - corporations such as #netflix are desperate for content."
