While out watching a baseball game with his girlfriend Kylie Jenner, Chalamet gave the public a glance at his new, very striking buzz cut.

It's especially noticeable since his long, curly locks were previously a staple of his public persona, always teased to perfection.

The new look has certainly proved divisive amongst fans.

"Why would he do this," one fan commented on X (Twitter). "He ruined his face card."

However, some are more taken with his new buzz cut. "Everyone sh*tting on him for this," another fan wrote, "but honestly, he looks more grown up. It looks good."

Another added: "It's the end of an era."

It's certainly a bold move for Chalamet, and as ever in the celebrity world, that with the greatest risk carries the greatest reward, and he's certainly done a good job in ensuring a lot of eyes will now be on him as Marty Supreme prepares to debut in theatres.

What do we know about Timothée Chalamet's new film Marty Supreme?

There's already heavy awards-season buzz around Chalamet's new film Marty Supreme, where he takes on the role of an ambitious table tennis player. Yes, really.

In the flick, Chalamet plays Marty Mauser, the film is not an auto-biography, but was instead influenced by the life of US table tennis player Marty Reisman.

Other cast-mates in the film include Oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow and relative newcomer Odessa A'Zion. The film is helmed by Josh Safdie, better known as one half of the directing duo The Safdie Brothers, alongside his sibling Bennie. The two are perhaps best known for their critically acclaimed 2019 crime thriller Uncut Gems, starring Adam Sandler.

Pundits are already placing Chalamet as one of the frontrunners for the Best Actor at next year's ceremony. He's already been Oscar-nominated twice; first for his breakthrough role as Elio in the tender queer drama Call Me By Your Name in 2018, and last year for his turn as Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown.
