Ever since current 007 actor Daniel Craig announced that he's departing from the James Bond franchise, fans have been eagerly anticipating who will be next to take on the iconic role.
And British actor, Ben Wishaw – who plays Q in the 25th Bond movie, No Time To Die — is hoping for a gay leading man.
When asked if he would like to see a gay actor play a gay Bond in an interview with Attitude Magazine, Wishaw was gung ho. "God, can you imagine? I mean, it would be quite an extraordinary thing. Of course, I would like to see that," he replied.

"I really believe that we should be working towards a world where anyone can play anything and it would be really thrilling if it didn't matter about someone's sexuality to take on a role like this. I think that would be real progress," he continued, noting that gay actors, Luke Evans and Jonathan Bailey, would be top contenders.
"They're both actors who it seems would be really capable of doing it and would be ideal casting. And it would be thrilling to see either of them do it," said Whishaw, who is reprising the role of Q for the third time.
"I wonder if either of them would want to — because it's not just the demands of the role, but it's like the demands of being Bond in the world and what it symbolizes and how it would change your life," he added.

Venom star Tom Hardy is currently is the best bet to be the new Bond, with his odds at 13/8, per Paddy Power, and Bridgeton star, Regé-Jean Page, clocks in highly at 2/1.
Other actors who have been tipped for role part include, Idris Elba,
James Norton, Paul Mesca, Tom Holland, and female actor and former 007, Lashana Lynch.Current 007 Craig, however, doesn't seem to care who takes on his role. After he was asked about it in a red carpet interview at the Bond premiere in London, he simply replied, "Not my problem."
