Gina Carano has recently spoken out following the return of The Mandalorian on Disney+.
The highly-anticipated third season of the space-western television series starring Pedro Pascal and Carl Weathers returned to our screens last week - but with one crucial character missing.
Gina Carano, best known for her portrayal of Cara Dune in the popular Star Wars series, was cut from the line-up after voicing controversial political views.
Just over two years ago, the 40-year-old actress shared some controversial comments about the political climate at the time - sharing a post that compared hatred against a political view to that of Jews being persecuted in Nazi Germany.

Posting to her official Instagram account in February 2021, Caranos shared a post that read: "Jews here beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors... even by children. Because history is edited, most people don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews.
"How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?"
The caption was paired with a black-and-white photo of a Jewish woman running away from a group of children who were attacking her.
Not only that, but the actress was also receiving backlash on social media for divisive comments she'd made about the 2020 election, gender pronouns, and mask mandates during the pandemic.
In the wake of the backlash, the actress issued a statement in which she doubled down on her views, stating that it was "f****** wild" to expect everyone you meet to "agree with every belief you hold."
However, it seems as though both Disney and Lucasfilm were not impressed with Carano's remarks. In the end, they removed the actress from the series, announcing to fans that she would not be returning to reprise her iconic role.
"Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future," a LucasFilm spokesperson said in a statement to PEOPLE on Wednesday. "Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.

Publishing a piece of artwork depicting her as Cara Dune, she wrote: "Thank you all for the support you’ve shown me not only over the past few days but over the past few years and some of you even longer from my early MMA days. You’ll never know how much that support matters and makes a difference.
"It was an honor to play Cara Dune, she will always have a special place in my heart."
"'Until our paths cross,'" she concluded.
Fans headed to the comment section, with many commending the actress and voicing that they would not be watching the latest season due to her removal from the cast.
As per Entertainment Weekly, the TV series addressed Dune's absence during the first few lines of dialogue.
"Greef explains that after capturing Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) in the season two finale, Dune was recruited by Special Forces and has now taken a new role working for the New Republic. In other words, she's busy off screen and won't be crossing paths with Din any time soon," the outlet reported.
