A 'Demolition Man 2' is in the works, Sylvester Stallone confirms
I have been rather audible in my destain for movie studios rebooting popular franchises decades after they were first released in a lame attempt to draw people to theaters and made a quick buck...
But now I'm going to eat my words, because Sylvester Stallone - the star of the 1993 action sci-fi movie Demolition Man - has announced that Warner Bros. is in the process of releasing a sequel to the cult classic.
Check out the original trailer to the explosive movie below:

During a Q&A session with his 12 million Instagram followers, one fan asked about the possibility of a sequel to Demolition Man, to which Sly replied:
"I think there is. We're working on it right now with Warner Bros. and it's looking fantastic. So that should come out, that's going to happen."

Opening in the year 1996, Demolition Man tells the story of LAPD Sgt. John Spartan (Stallone), a risk-taking police officer who will do whatever it takes to stop psychopathic criminal Simon Phoenix (Wesley Snipes).
After the pair are involved in a fatal hostage situation, they are both cryogenically frozen indefinitely. However, the chaotic Phoenix is accidentally released in 2032 - during a time of stringent peace, where even swearing is a finable offense.
In an effort to stop the madman, Lieutenant Lenina Huxley (Sandra Bullock) has Spartan thawed and put on the case.
Honestly, it is one of those movies that is so cheesy it's good - and has amassed a huge cult following after being critically panned upon its release.
So although Stallone kept tight-lipped about the details on the sequel, considering the fact that Stallone mentioned that things are "looking fantastic", we can probably assume that some of the story/script work has been completed.
