'Criminal Minds' star Shemar Moore expecting his first baby at 52

Shemar Moore, best known for starring on Criminal Minds, has revealed that he is just one month away from becoming a father.

The 52-year-old actor shared the exciting news that he is preparing to welcome his first child during an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show - which is set to air on January 26.

While talking with the 41-year-old host, the soon-to-be father gushed that on the third anniversary of his mother's death on February 8, 2020, he "is about to be a daddy".

"On February 8th I'm gonna make one of her dreams come true because in real life Shemar Moore is about to be a daddy," he announced, which prompted the audience to burst into loud cheers.

The EGOT winner congratulated the S.W.A.T actor on his joyous news and told him that his late mom was "smiling down on him from heaven".

"I'm so excited. I'm sorry she can't be here," Moore continued. "I was worried for a while that it was a 'that ship has sailed,' kind of thing but God had my back and things lined up."

Despite feeling that his life is already "pretty grand," Moore said that becoming a father will be the best experience, adding: "But I know whenever God does call my name, once I get this experience, I'll be able to go to heaven whole."

After the Jennifer Hudson Show clip was posted online, The Brothers actor took to his Instagram page on January 9 to share a gender reveal video that featured the mother of his baby, girlfriend Jesiree Dizon.

In the heartwarming clip, the couple gathered with family and friends to learn the sex of their forthcoming arrival. They shared their predictions, with the 39-year-old model remarking that she's already a mom to one of each.

Jesiree - who is a mom to daughter Charli, five, and son Kaiden, 16, from previous relationships - said: "If we have a boy, we're one and done," implying that there could be more than one newborn in the couple's family future.

Later in the video, Moore also added: "It's either going to be Legend, little homie, or it's going to be Frankie, little baby girl, and I'm about to be a father come February 8, 2023."

The footage then showed a helicopter flying overhead and releasing pink smoke, revealing that the parents will welcome a baby girl next month.

The delightful news also comes years after the Sonic the Hedgehog star opened up about his longing to have children during an interview with CBS's Watch Magazine in 2017.

"I want to be a family man," he shared with the outlet at the time. "I want to be a father, I want to have a partner in crime, a woman to share [my life] with."

"I want to continue to evolve, I want to continue to take the next step in my life. In my personal life," he continued.

Congratulations to the happy couple on their very exciting news!
