Actor Timotheé Chalamet has revealed that he felt acutely embarrassed when pictures of him kissing Lily-Rose Depp leaked online.
The images surfaced in September of 2019, when Chalamet and Depp were spotted by photographers sharing a passionate moment together while out on a boat in Capri in Italy.

However, the slightly-awkward angle of the kiss meant that the pictures quickly went viral on social media.
Indeed, Instagram was quickly inundated with a large number of image macros of the passionate makeout session, which you can view below:

However, now the Call Me By Your Name star has opened up about how he felt when the pictures surfaced in a new interview with GQ, revealing that he was pretty mortified to see them plastered all over the internet.
Chalamet stated:
"I went to bed that night thinking that was one of the best days of my life. I was on this boat all day with someone I really loved, and closing my eyes, I was like, indisputably, ‘That was great.'"

He continued:
"Then waking up to all these pictures, and feeling embarrassed, and looking like a real kn*b? All pale?. And then people are like: 'This is a PR stunt.’ A PR stunt? Do you think I’d want to look like that in front of all of you? [sic]"

The actor also opened up about his own sense of responsibility towards what he posts on social media, particularly when it relates to political or social justice issues. Chalamet stated:
"I have so many thoughts on so much of it, but I don't see the benefit of putting it down for consumption until I've really worked out exactly how I feel about it all. Who benefits from my half-baked ideas?"

He added:
"I care so much about this stuff. But I would never want my caring to be misconstrued. I don't want my caring to be about me in any way."
Per Page Six, Chalamet and Depp were first romantically attached in October of 2019, when they were spotted at Tao Downtown following a Cinema Society screening of the movie The King.
They broke up sometime after, with Chalamet telling Vogue in their April 2020 issue that he was "currently single."
