Sia offers apology after mistaking Nicki Minaj for Cardi B
Sia is facing backlash after mistaking Nicki Minaj for Cardi B.
The Chandelier singer took to Twitter on Friday to respond to a fan's since-deleted tweet featuring a photo of Nicki Minaj, asking Sia whether she would ever collaborate with the rapper, according to E! News.
"I love [Cardi B] and although this isn't a collaboration, I would love to COLLAB with her any day," the 44-year-old wrote, tagging Cardi B in the post.
The singer was roundly criticized for confusing the two rappers, with some Twitter users using the hashtag "#SiaIsOverParty."
"SIA GIRL YOU NEED TO DELETE I'M NOT PLAYING," wrote one Twitter user, while another added: "Idk but she is making herself look really bad [sic]."

"I totally misunderstood a tweet earlier that has resulted in me making a buffoon out of myself. Sorry @NICKIMINAJ and @iamcardib if you hear about it. Can I just like you both," Sia later tweeted in response to the backlash.

This comes after a slew of anti-racism protests swept the United States and other major cities across the globe, following the death of George Floyd.
Floyd, a black man, was arrested by Minneapolis police on Monday, May 25, for reportedly using a counterfeit $20 note in a store. While being detained, ex-cop Derek Chauvin - a 20-year veteran of the force - knelt on his neck for eight minutes and 46 seconds.
Chauvin faces charges of second-degree murder and manslaughter, while the three other arresting officers have been charged with aiding and abetting murder.
Sia has been vocal in its support for the Black Lives Matter movement, taking to its Twitter account to demand justice for Breonna Taylor.
