Nicole Kidman has offered a rare glimpse into how she’s doing as her divorce from Keith Urban continues to play out publicly.
During a new conversation with Ariana Grande for Interview Magazine, the Oscar winner shared a short but telling update on her emotional state.
Kidman and Grande sat down for a wide-ranging discussion that touched on their current projects, personal lives, star signs, and recent reads.
Grande is celebrating the release of the second Wicked film, while Kidman revealed she completed filming a sequel to Practical Magic over the summer.
She also shared that she’s currently reading a thriller written by Reese Witherspoon.
When Grande opened the interview by asking how she was doing, Kidman replied simply: “I’m hanging in there.”
While the interview remained light for the most part, Kidman’s brief comment at the start stood out following the intense personal challenges she has faced in recent months.
Divorce After Nearly 20 Years of Marriage
Kidman’s divorce from Keith Urban was confirmed earlier this fall after nearly two decades together. Records show she filed on September 30, ending one of Hollywood’s most closely watched marriages.

Coverage of the split intensified after reports surfaced about a so-called “cocaine clause” in their prenuptial agreement.
The clause stated that if Urban, who has struggled with addiction in the past, remained cocaine-free during the marriage, he would receive $600,000 for each year of sobriety.
Over 19 years, that amount surpasses $11 million, according to the London Evening Standard.
Urban’s Past Struggles and Kidman’s Support
Urban has spoken openly about his history with addiction and credited Kidman for helping him confront it. In a 2010 interview with Oprah Winfrey, he recalled an intervention Kidman initiated shortly before their wedding.
“I’m just so glad she didn’t [leave],” Urban said.
“She made a decision to turn around and initiate ultimately this intervention, and it was done in such a way that the love in that room at that moment was just right. I was like, ‘Put the cuffs on, let’s go.’”
He later praised Kidman again during her AFI Lifetime Achievement Award ceremony, reflecting on his time in rehab early in their marriage.
“Four months into a marriage, and I’m in rehab for three months with no idea what was going to happen to us,” Urban said.
“Nic pushed through every negative voice – I’m sure even some of her own – and she chose love.”
While Kidman has kept the specifics of the divorce private, her four-word update suggests she’s navigating the difficult transition with resilience.
As the legal process continues, she remains focused on her career, upcoming projects, and maintaining her privacy.
