Nicole Kidman finally addresses her divorce from Keith Urban amid alleged 'cocaine clause'

Nicole Kidman has hinted that she’s been left emotionally “broken” following her recent divorce from country singer Keith Urban.

The couple, married for 19 years, officially split in September after months of reported separation, with Urban allegedly moving out earlier in the year.

The breakup appeared to catch the Moulin Rouge! star off guard. Kidman, who shares two daughters with Urban, is still adjusting to life without her longtime partner and the stability their marriage once provided.

Financial Fallout and the Reported “Cocaine Clause”

Beyond the emotional toll, Kidman may also face a significant financial loss. Multiple media reports have resurfaced details about a so-called “cocaine clause” in the couple’s prenuptial agreement.

Urban, who has been open about his past struggles with addiction, reportedly included a clause stating he would earn $900,000 for each year he avoided drugs and alcohol throughout their marriage. After nearly two decades together, that incentive could total a considerable sum, according to the London Evening Standard.

Kidman on Pain, Growth, and Moving Forward

Now, as Kidman promotes her upcoming projects, she has begun speaking publicly about the emotionally turbulent months she’s endured. In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar, she appeared to allude directly to the pain of the separation while discussing the realities of getting older.

“There’s something to knowing that no matter how painful, or how difficult, or how devastating something is, there is a way through,” she said. “You’re going to have to feel it. You’re not going to be able to numb it.

“You’re going to feel like you’re broken, but if you move gently and slowly – and it can take an enormous amount of time – it does pass.”

Kidman, 58, filed for divorce on September 30, citing irreconcilable differences. The filing surprised fans who had long viewed the couple as deeply bonded, especially after Kidman supported Urban through an intervention just months after their wedding.

Keith Urban’s Past Struggles

Urban has also reflected in past interviews on his journey through addiction and the turning point he reached when he married Kidman.

“All through the years of drinking and doing drugs and all the rest of it, I always had this very specific voice inside of me that goes, ‘One day, you’re gonna come to a crossroads or a fork in the road, and it’ll be the final one,’” he said, via The Boot.

“I knew that was it,” he added, describing the moment he married Kidman. “You’re either gonna choose to get out of this s**t, or you’re never gonna get out of it.”

Despite their split, the two will continue co-parenting their teenage daughters. Court filings indicate Urban will reportedly have custody for just 59 days per year, though both parents have expressed commitment to maintaining stability for their children.
