Millie Bobby Brown 'agreed to wed' Stranger Things co-star before getting married to Jake Bongiovi
Millie Bobby Brown, widely known for her role as Eleven on Stranger Things, tied the knot with Jake Bongiovi, son of rock legend Jon Bon Jovi, earlier this year. The marriage took many fans by surprise, but it turns out that before her relationship with Bongiovi, Brown had made an unusual pact with one of her longtime co-stars, Noah Schnapp.
The pair, who have been working together since 2016, share a deep friendship built over nearly a decade. In a 2022 interview with MTV News, Brown revealed that she and Schnapp had made a humorous promise to each other. “We said if we're not married by 40, we'll get married together because we'd be good roomies," Brown shared. However, the agreement came with a few important conditions.
Conditions of the pact
Brown and Schnapp, who have always been close on and off screen, agreed that their future shared life would be child-free. "No kids, though, because I could not deal with a child of yours, yeah, that's my dealbreaker too. Yeah, no kids at all," Brown stated. "Only dogs, and separate bedrooms, for sure, my God, you're so messy." The lightheartedness of their pact was reflective of the strong and playful bond they’ve developed over the years.
Their friendship is something that has influenced their on-screen chemistry, as Schnapp explained: “We have built such a friendship together. And you're also one of the longest friends I've ever had."
He continued by saying their friendship made their work together much easier, as they naturally supported each other. "We both encourage each other and cheer each other on when we're doing well," he added.
A lasting bond beyond the screen
Though the pact never came to fruition, their bond remains a central part of both their personal and professional lives. Brown has frequently expressed how important Schnapp’s friendship is to her, emphasizing the rarity of having such a supportive relationship. "You're really one of those people for me," Brown noted. Their continued closeness proves that the real foundation of their relationship lies in mutual respect and support, rather than any future promises.
In the end, while Brown found love with Bongiovi, her friendship with Schnapp has clearly remained a vital part of her life, both on and off the Stranger Things set.
