Meat Loaf claimed he once tried to shove Prince Andrew into a moat: 'I don't give a s**t who you are'

As the world reacts to the death of music legend Meat Loaf, several incredible stories involving the singer are resurfacing online.

Perhaps none more entertaining than the time he apparently once tried to push Prince Andrew into a moat.

The alleged incident occurred back in 1987, when the American rockstar appeared on the British TV special, It's a Royal Knockout (also known as The Grand Knockout Tournament). The show was a spin-off of the It's a Knockout gameshow, and featured celebrities competing with members of the UK Royal Family - all for charity, of course.

The four team captains were The Duke of York Prince Andrew, his now-ex-wife The Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson, Prince Edward, and Anne, Princess Royal.

Meat Loaf found himself on Sarah Ferguson's team.

The show was not good - but if you want to watch it, you can below:

Recalling his appearance on the show in an interview with The Guardian in 2003, Meat Loaf said: "It was great fun. I had a great time.

"Fergie [Sarah Ferguson] wasn't exactly flirting with me, but she was paying attention to me, and I think [Prince] Andrew got a little - I could be wrong, I'm just reading into this - I think he got a little jealous."

As a result of this apparent "jealousy", Meat Loaf said that Prince Andrew attempting to push him in the nearby water.

"He tried to push me in the moat," Meat Loaf said, adding: "So I turned around and I grabbed him and he goes, 'You can't touch me. I'm royal.' I said, 'well you try to push me in the moat, Jack, I don't give a s**t who you are, you're goin' in the moat.'"

During the interview, Meat Loaf also quipped that the Queen "hates" him - but didn't elaborate as to why.

Although Meat Loaf and Fergie's team did come last, the TV event raised £1 million for the chosen charities.

The news of Meat Loaf's passing was announced earlier today in a heartbreaking Facebook post, in which his family wrote: "Our hearts are broken to announce that the incomparable Meat Loaf passed away tonight surrounded by his wife Deborah, daughters Pearl and Amanda and close friends."

"We know how much he meant to so many of you and we truly appreciate all of the love and support as we move through this time of grief in losing such an inspiring artist and beautiful man," the statement added, before concluding: "From his heart to your souls…don’t ever stop rocking!"

He is survived by his wife Deborah and daughters Pearl and Amanda.
