Kevin Hart praised for simple answer to question on whether he’d rather have 'th*t daughter or a gay son'

In a recent interview with comedian Ziwe, Kevin Hart addressed a controversial question regarding his stance on LGBTQ+ issues and parenting.

The interview, which aired on November 24, 2025, on Ziwe's YouTube series, covered a variety of topics, but one particular moment has sparked a significant amount of online conversation. Hart was asked which he would prefer: having a gay son or a “th*t” daughter. The term "th*t," often used pejoratively to describe a promiscuous woman, is seen by many as derogatory and offensive.

Hart’s response was both calm and direct. Instead of engaging with the provocative nature of the question, he focused on the importance of raising healthy, well-adjusted children, without placing them in limiting categories.

“I would rather have two healthy kids, two healthy children. The fact that you have to like put them in those categories, says a lot about who you are,” Hart said.

He went on to challenge the premise of the question itself, emphasizing that the real issue lies in how the questioner views people. "I’m just telling you, I think the real problem is in the thinker, not the answerer," he explained.

Recognizing the complexity of social issues

The discussion continued with a follow-up question from Ziwe, who pressed Hart on whether he cared more about gay rights or women’s rights. Hart’s answer reinforced his inclusive stance on human rights.

"Well, first and foremost rights are rights and you should care about them all," he said. "Everybody has a voice and everyone deserves to be heard." He also mentioned his desire to be part of the change that the world needs.

Despite the comedic tone of the conversation, Hart’s comments have garnered praise on social media, especially given his past controversies.

Many applauded his thoughtful approach, with some noting that his response aligned with progressive views on equality and respect. One user on X commented, "Beautifully said...Imagine bringing a child into this world who also has a journey into their life and you want to control that?" Another echoed these sentiments, writing, “Perfect answer. Health and love > labels."

A lighthearted interview with a deeper message

While the overall vibe of the interview was playful and lighthearted, Hart's response highlighted an important issue: the need for open-mindedness and empathy when discussing sensitive topics.

His comments were a reminder that parenting should focus on the well-being of children, free from judgment or societal labels. For many, Hart’s answers resonated as a call for more compassion in conversations about identity and rights, signaling a step toward more inclusive and respectful dialogue in the public sphere.
