We're all under immense pressure to look our best at all times - an evidently impossible pursuit informed by modern beauty standards that are largely unachievable.
No longer just the fodder of glossy magazine covers, now, we're confronted with images of filtered perfection practically wherever we look.
Though, of course, there's nothing wrong with wanting to look and feel our best, it's important also to embrace the skin we're in and not judge ourselves harshly against models and the rich and famous when it comes to our own appearances.

One person who has embarked on a fitness journey of her own this year is the singer and designer Jessica Simpson.
The 40-year-old has been keeping her fans updated with her fitness progress via her Instagram page and recently revealed that she's lost 100lbs since her daughter's birth in March 2019.
And in a new Instagram post shared to Simpson's business account, the mom-of-three revealed her toned abs.

Earlier this year, her trainer Harley Pasernak revealed what Simpson has been doing in her workouts to E! News.
"This particular baby no. 3 was... I think she commented to the press that she tipped the scales at 240 lbs, that's not coming from me, she mentioned that in a post. So, we had our work cut out for us and perhaps more so on this baby than the others." He said.
"It had to be more than just getting back from her baby weight, but how do I keep whatever I am doing now forever. That's why we are not a big fan of doing any extreme diet or radical forms of exercise."

He explained, ""We started with doing a full-body workout, one set of each exercise, not really doing too much intensity per body part and gradually increasing the volume and intensity. Focusing on a few muscle groups per day. Different muscles each day of the week."
In another recent Instagram post, Simpson opened up about how she now disdains the opinions of body shamers, after she was disparaged by former Vogue editor Sally Singer. Simpson wrote:
"I have persevered through shaming my own body and internalizing the world’s opinions about it for my entire adult life. To read this much-anticipated article about the classiest fashion event there is and have to be shamed by another woman for having boobs in 2020 is nauseating,"
