Sporting a Knicks cap and his trademark calm demeanor, Seinfeld was swarmed by anti-Israel protesters as he made his way to a waiting car.
The confrontation, caught on video and later shared by the Palestinian Assembly for Liberation on Instagram, quickly went viral for the way Seinfeld handled the moment — with laughter, per Fox News.
“F**k you, Jerry Seinfeld! Free Palestine,” shouted a woman off-camera. “You support the genocide of babies in Gaza!”
Unfazed, the 70-year-old comedian turned to the protester and laughed, responding with a simple, dry: “Only you.”
But the protest didn’t stop there. The heckler continued yelling, even hurling another insult at him by calling him a “rabid f***ing dog.”
This isn’t Seinfeld’s first run-in with protesters.
For more than a year, he’s been targeted by activists during public appearances and performances due to his vocal support of Israel, a stance he’s held for years and only reaffirmed following the October 7 Hamas attacks.
Just days after those attacks, Seinfeld joined over 2,000 other entertainment figures in signing a letter initiated by Creative Community for Peace (CCFP). The letter expressed solidarity with Israel and warned against misinformation.
“As Israel takes the necessary steps to defend its citizens in the coming days and weeks, social media will be overrun by an orchestrated misinformation campaign spearheaded by Iran. We urge everyone to remember the horrific images that came out of Israel and to not amplify or fall for their propaganda,” the letter read.
The letter concluded with a hopeful sentiment: a wish for “Israelis and Palestinians to one day live side-by-side in peace.”
While critics have been vocal, so have supporters. During a New York Mets game, Seinfeld was approached by a fan asking for a message to his brother watching “from the Gaza border.”
Without hesitation, Seinfeld leaned into the camera and said, “Let’s go IDF!”
Back in December 2023, he and his wife Jessica Sklar made a personal visit to Israel, where they met with survivors of the October 7 attacks. The emotional impact of that trip lingered with the comedian.
In an interview with Bari Weiss, Seinfeld choked up recalling the experience, calling it “the most powerful experience of my life” and even falling silent for several seconds as he tried to collect himself.

But not all interactions have been so emotional. In a now-notorious moment, social media influencer Subway DJ approached Seinfeld under the guise of asking for a selfie — only to blurt out “Free Palestine.”
The camera caught Seinfeld’s ice-cold response: “I don’t care about Palestine,” before he walked away.
Per the Wall Street Journal, Hamas killed 1,200 people on October 7th and took around 250 hostages.
According to Al Jazeera, over 53,000 Palestinians have been killed since the attacks.
