Courteney Cox reveals exactly how she got that turkey on her head

Courteney Cox has taken to social media to reveal exactly how she got a raw turkey on her head for her Friends Thanksgiving Tribute.

Fans of the popular sitcom will recall that back in season five, Cox's character - Monica Gellar - danced with a turkey on her head in an attempt to cheer up boyfriend Chandler Bing.

The now-iconic moment has become a popular gif to share every Thanksgiving, and on the show, it led to Chandler telling Monica that he loved her for the very first time.

So, in an attempt to give everybody a good laugh this Thanksgiving, Cox decided to recreate the scene for her 10.2 million Instagram followers.

The 56-year-old actress captioned the video: "Happy Thanksgiving xoxo #friends"

This is the moment Courteney Cox recreates the iconic Friends scene by dancing with her head stuffed in a turkey:

"I hope you're having a great day. I'm feeling so thankful and also," Cox says in the video, adding: "If I get one more godd**n gift with that turkey on my head dancing like a f***ing fool, I'm just going to snap.

"So, anyway, since I'm the symbol of thanksgiving, here you go, hope it makes you happy."

It is then that Courteney can be seen shimmying with a sunglasses-clad turkey on her head.

The post proved very popular (after all, it was exactly what we all needed to see after a rough 2020), amassing over 51,000 comments and more than 5.7 million views - but how exactly did Cox get that turkey on her head?!

Well, the Scream star has once again taken to Instagram to reveal the behind-the-scenes making of the video, which she captioned: "The (gross) truth!"

The video starts with the tongue-in-cheek message: "Vegan discretion is advised", and goes on to show Cox being assisted with the turkey, all while wearing plastic wrap over her head (presumably for lubrication/hygiene reasons).
