Chrissy Teigen has leaped to the defense of Meghan Markle from trolls after the Duchess revealed that she suffered a miscarriage back in July.
The former Suits actress and wife of Prince Harry opened up about the loss of her baby in an essay written for The New York Times titled: "The Losses We Share".
The 39-year-old described how she felt a sharp pain in her abdomen while holding her son Archie, which led to her being rushed to hospital after her child died in-utero.

Meghan wrote:
"Losing a child means carrying an almost unbearable grief, experienced by many but talked about by few.
"In the pain of our loss, my husband and I discovered that in a room of 100 women, 10 to 20 of them will have suffered from miscarriage.
"Yet despite the staggering commonality of this pain, the conversation remains taboo, riddled with (unwarranted) shame, and perpetuating a cycle of solitary mourning."

After the article was published, a number of people took to social media to thank Meghan, offer their support and condolences, and praise her for tackling a delicate and personal subject so candidly:

However, others were more critical of the essay. For instance, Daily Express journalist Marco Giannangeli wrote:
"Is anyone really questioning the pain and sheer awfulness of suffering a miscarriage, or are they perhaps criticizing Meghan’s decision to write a 1,000 word op-Ed about herself? What does it add to the resources already available for those who go through a tragedy like this? [sic]"

Per Just Jared, an outraged Chrissy Teigen jumped in to criticize the journalist, writing in a since-deleted tweet:
"Award for today’s absolute piece of s*** goes to Marco Giannangeli. Congratulations, piece of s***."
She later removed her post and tweeted by way of explanation: "Sorry forgot I’m trying to be nicer lol"

Chrissy Teigen revealed that she also suffered a miscarriage back in October, after suffering from serious bleeding and being admitted to hospital.
In a statement posted to their social media accounts, Chrissy and her husband John Legend wrote: "We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we've never felt before.
"We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn't enough."

They continued: "We never decide on our babies' names until the last possible moment after they're born, just before we leave the hospital. But we, for some reason, had started to call this little guy in my belly Jack. So he will always be Jack to us. Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be, forever.
"To our Jack - I'm so sorry that the first few moments of your life were met with so many complications, that we couldn't give you the home you needed to survive. We will always love you."
