Charlize Theron shares rare snap of her two daughters on Instagram
Charlize Theron has taken to Instagram to post a rare snap of her two daughters, eight-year-old Jackson, and five-year-old August.
Posting the adorable photo to her 6.3 million followers over the weekend, Charlize wrote in the caption: "My heart belongs to these two beautiful powerhouses. I will never be the same, Happy #NationalDaughtersDay" alongside a heart emoji.
It was back in 2012 that the Mad Max actress adopted Jackson, who was assigned male at birth.

Last year, however, Charlize revealed that Jackson was actually a girl. Indeed, in a candid interview with the Daily Mail, she said, "Yes, I thought she was a boy, too. Until she looked at me when she was three years old and said, ‘I am not a boy!’ So there you go."
She continued: “I have two beautiful daughters who, just like any parent, I want to protect and I want to see thrive. They were born who they are and exactly where in the world both of them get to find themselves as they grow up, and who they want to be, is not for me to decide.”
The South African actress went on to say that her "job as a parent is to celebrate them and to love them and to make sure that they have everything they need in order to be what they want to be."

Charlize added: “I will do everything in my power for my kids to have that right and to be protected within that.”
In 2015, the 45-year-old adopted a second daughter called August. In recent months, Charlize has opened up about the strength she feels in being a single mother to two daughters.
In the summer, she was a guest in an episode of designer Diane von Furstenberg's podcast InCharge with DVF. It was then that she revealed that she hopes to allow her daughters to “realize that there is absolutely no shame in that game to be in a relationship with yourself”.

She also explained that Jackson and August had asked her why she wasn't in a relationship, which Charlize took as an opportunity to teach them that being a single woman does not mean you have failed in some way.
“This idea that somehow women fail when they’re not in relationships or that somehow it’s their fault, that they must be incredibly difficult – that’s why no man wants to touch them. Those are all constructs that we need to change,” she said.
