Cardi B has deleted her Twitter account after facing backlash from fans.
The 29-year-old rapper was met with criticism from a portion of her fan base after they claimed that she had teased attending last night's Grammys. However, Cardi - real name Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar Cephus - denies that she ever dropped any hints about attending the awards show.
"I wasn't giving out hints," she said in an Instagram Live video later Sunday evening. "I literally posted earlier today, in my house, in New York, with my kids - you could hear my kids in the background.
"When did I ever [give] hints that I was going to the f***ing Grammys? And for you to call me lazy and s**t because I'm not going to an award... What? Why would I go to an award for?"

The WAP star then added: "It gets me annoyed when other people talk about me, but when my own f***ing fans talk s**t about me - that s**t really p***ed the f*** outta me, bro."
"I don't give a f***, whatever I said on them tweets, I really motherf***ing mean it," she said, before adding: "That person brought up my son. If you're talking s*** about me, why [are] you bringing up my f***ing son? What [has] my son got to do with anything?"
Cardi was referring to tweets from trolls that reference her children.
"I bet yo son wouldnt like for you to be on your a** while teasing us fans and not ever dropping music [sic]," one Twitter user wrote.
In response, the rapper wrote: "I hope your moms die."
There were several other tweets that also mentioned the chart-topper's children.
Prior to deleting her account, Cardi tweeted: "I’m deleting my twitter but On God I hate this f**kin dumbass fan base. You got the slow dumb***es dragging my kids all cause y’all though I was going to the Grammys and I didn’t the f**k? [sic]"
As of this writing, the rapper's Instagram page has also been deactivated.
