50 Cent says he was offered $1m to attend Donald Trump's inauguration

In recent weeks, 50 Cent has been using his platform to share his political standpoints - and it's been anything but straightforward.

The 'Ayo Technology' hitmaker went from seemingly endorsing President Donald Trump, to apparently withdrawing his support, and subsequently slamming Lil Wayne for taking a photo with the incumbent president.

And now, 50 Cent is reportedly claiming that before his infamous Instagram endorsement of Trump, he was offered $1 million to attend his inauguration.

"They offered me $1 million to go to Trump’s inauguration," said 50 Cent in an interview with The Breakfast Club, per Bossip. "I passed on that. [They initially offered] $500,000 and it went up to $1 million while I was still confused with whether I should do it.'"

"He was needing it for the same reasons you see now, he participated with different artists for the Black vote," he added. "And I’m going, nah, I ain’t gone put myself in that position. ‘Cause I don’t know what I’d have to do to recover from that."

50 Cent then revealed, per iheart that he declined the offer before seeing Biden's supposed tax rate plans, which led to the Instagram post, in which he endorsed Trump.

"Later, I'm watching the news called CNBC [and see] Biden's tax plan is 62 percent," he recalled. "I go, 'Oh, yo. I missed that part. They never talked about that in the debates.'"

Last month on October 19, the 45-year-old rapper shared an image featuring Biden's reported tax rate plans for New York City, New York State, California, and New Jersey.

In a caption to the post, he told his 26.2 million Instagram followers:

"WHAT THE F***! (VOTE For TRUMP) IM OUT, F*** NEW YORK The KNICKS never win anyway. I don't care Trump doesn't like black people 62% are you out of ya f***ing mind. [sic]"

50 Cent's ex-girlfriend Chelsea Handler responded to the rapper's apparent endorsement of Biden by offering to pay his taxes, if he "[comes] to his senses" over his support for Trump.

Handler initially replied to her former flame's "support" for Trump, writing, "You used to be my favorite ex-boyfriend."

"[Oh] my God this is effecting my love life now [sic]. @chelseahandler I love ya Gator, don’t let Trump and Joe Biden come between us girl. #starzgettheapp," 50 Cent responded on the social media platform.

Handler later confirmed during a virtual appearance on The View that the rapper is "absolutely" supporting Joe Biden.

She said: "So he called me and he wasn’t serious, he was just screwing around on his Twitter. He is supporting Joe Biden.

"I did promise to pay his taxes, and then I found out it’s illegal to pay somebody to vote for your candidate. So I offered him another form of payment and we’ll see if he takes me up on it, but I don’t have to pay him, he's already a Biden supporter."
