Bill Maher tells Nirvana baby Spencer Elden to 'stop being such a f***ing baby' over 'Nevermind' cover

Bill Maher has weighed in on the controversy surrounding Nirvana's 'Nevermind' album cover after the baby in the image, Spencer Elden, launched a child pornography lawsuit against the band.

The 1991 album depicts a naked four-month-old baby reaching for a dollar bill in a swimming pool.

Elden, 30, is in the process of suing Nirvana and Kurt Cobain's estate after he featured naked on the front of their iconic album cover Nevermind, and now he has asked for his genitalia not to be used on the 30th-anniversary reissue, TMZ reports.

According to the news outlet, Elden's attorney Maggie Mabie said it's time to "end this child exploitation and violation of privacy."

Elden alleges that the image displayed his genitals without his consent.

He claimed that neither he nor legal his guardians signed a release authorizing the use of his photo on the cover and that the band's frontman, Kurt Cobain, had promised to conceal his crotch with a warning sticker.

He is seeking at least $150,000 in damages from the remaining members of the band, Cobain's estate, and from photographer Kirk Weddle, who took the original image.

Now, Maher has given his take on the situation and as always, he didn't hold back as he told Elden to "stop being such a f**king baby."

Speaking on his New Rule segment on Real Time, Maher said: "The words 'victim' and 'survivor' have traveled a long way from their original usage. The baby from the Nirvana album says he's a victim. He’s suing Nirvana for lifelong damages.

"I never thought I'd have to say this to a baby, but stop being such a f**king baby. You're not a victim."

"There’s no reason you can’t have a normal, happy life just because people look at you and think, 'baby penis.' It didn't hurt Trump," he added.

It comes as Dave Grohl, the former drummer of Nirvana, shared his thoughts on the album cover in question.

Grohl, a founder and vocalist of the band, Foo Fighters, has said that he has "many ideas" about how the cover of the album could be changed.

In an interview with The Sunday Times, Grohl said: "I have many ideas of how we should alter that cover but we’ll see what happens. We’ll let you know. I’m sure we’ll come up with something good."

When asked about the lawsuit specifically, the 52-year-old musician said: "I think that there’s much more to look forward to and much more to life than getting bogged down in those kinds of things. And, fortunately, I don’t have to do the paperwork."
