The trailer for Assassin's Creed Valhalla has just dropped, and we couldn't be more excited.
This is the 23rd game in the series, and its Norse-inspired setting allows players to explore ninth-century England as Vikings. However, while the franchise has certainly evolved over time, the new game's trailer demonstrates that the assumed protagonist has the hidden blade that's come to characterize the series.

The game's official synopsis reads: "Become Eivor, a Viking raider raised to be a fearless warrior, and lead your clan from icy desolation in Norway to a new home amid the lush farmlands of ninth-century England. Find your settlement and conquer this hostile land by any means to earn a place in Valhalla."
"England in the age of the Vikings is a fractured nation of petty lords and warring kingdoms. Beneath the chaos lies a rich and untamed land waiting for a new conqueror. Will it be you?"

Ubisoft's press release stated: "Players must carve out a new future for their clan, reliving the ruthless fighting style of Viking warriors with a revamped combat system that includes the ability to dual-wield weapons against a greater variety of enemies than ever before."
Players have to use their longship to lead raids on certain locations to secure resources in the game.

The game has no official release date, but it is notable because it is an announcement that comes from the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, both of which will be available for purchase this Christmas. It, therefore, seems reasonable to assume that Assassin's Creed Valhalla could be available around then.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla will be available to play on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X, PC, and Google Stadia 'Holiday 2020'.
Now, we don't know about you, but this game certainly sounds like something to look forward to!
