Amy Schumer says she 'can't ever be pregnant again' after IVF experience
Falling pregnant isn't always a straightforward process and some parents have to go through more than most when bringing another life into the world.
Now Amy Schumer has opened up about her "tough" IVF experience which helped the 39-year-old to fall pregnant with her son, Gene, one, who she shares with husband Chris Fischer.
Amy shared this candid post-surgery video after undergoing an egg retrieval procedure:

In an interview on Sunday Today with Willie Geist cited by Page Six, Amy said: "We did IVF and IVF was really tough on me."
When asked if she was considering having more children, she said: "I don't think I could ever do IVF again, so I decided I can't ever be pregnant again."
She explained that she and her husband have considered using a surrogate if they ever plan to add to their family, but they have no immediate plans to do so.
"We're gonna hold off right now," Amy said.

Amy opened up earlier this year about her experience of IVF, explaining that she had just one "healthy egg" out of the 35 retrieved from her.
The comedian was inspired to share her story by other women who were opening up about their experience of fertility treatments per the Metro, writing on social media: "Hey! So ivf went like this for us. They retrieved 35 eggs from me. Not bad for the old gal right? [sic]"
"Then 26 fertilized! Whoah right? For all of those we got 1 normal embryo from that and 2 low level mosaic (mosaic means there are some abnormal cells but can still lead to a healthy baby) So we feel lucky we got 1! [sic]"

"So many women go through many rounds of ivf which is painful and mentally grueling. I heard from hundreds of women about my their miscarriages and struggles and also many hopeful stories about how after rounds and rounds of ivf it worked [sic]," Amy continued.
"It has been really encouraging. Thank you. Anyway, I am so grateful for our son and that we have the resources to get help in this way."
