A video has gone viral on social media this week showing the moment a woman clung to the hood of a speeding car to stop the theft of a $10,000 puppy.
Per NBC News, the video in question shows pet store worker Alize James, who hails from Harris County in Houston, Texas, jumping on top of the hood of a sedan on November 4.
Take a look at the incredible video of the incident:According to court documents, the thief stole a seven-month-old French Bulldog puppy from the pet store Bully Kamp, which specializes in exotic breeds of canine, after pretending to buy the dog.
But as Alize went upstairs to get the relevant paperwork, she immediately departed the store and attempted to make a hasty getaway by car.
Security camera and cellphone footage show the dognapping unfold, as James can be seen holding onto the car for a number of minutes until a male passenger got out of the Sedan, punched James, and threw her off the vehicle before the two of them zoomed off.
Commenting on the experience in a later interview with NBC affiliate KPRC of Houston, James stated that her only concern at the time of the incident was the little puppy, who had just had surgery a few days earlier before needing special medication.
James stated:
"I just love all types of animals. My mind is focused on her health, I obviously didn’t care about my wellbeing.
"Next time I heard the gas go, he went very aggressively and it (the bumper) kind of like slapped me on top of the car. They were weaving, driving recklessly and I could barely hold on. I was so scared.
"Then he grabs me by my feet, and he grabs me by my chest, and he starts hitting me."
According to KPRC, a police investigation into the incident has since been launched, and authorities have since identified the woman as 21-year-old Royshana King.
King has since been arrested and charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon. However, her male accomplice driving the car has not yet been identified by the authorities.
